"Men are what their mothers made them" --Ralph Waldo Emerson
All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel Mother.
Mothers are fonder than fathers of their children because they are more certain they are their own.
The loveliest materpiece of the heart of God is the love of a Mother.

As a mom, I always include my son as priority consideration for almost every decision that we have to make, including for things related to home improvements. Below are some home improvements that I found it very child-friendly and practical for everyday use and other reason why mom recommends it.

  1. Double toilet seat cover from Hoe Kee

I love it since the first time I saw it! It has double layer of seater (first layer is for adult, and second layer is for kids) No more hide and seek for the potty with M anymore (Yes, he did this lots of times with our previous portable potty). I don't need to bother to hang it or put it in a corner too, because it's dettached within the WC itself. It makes potty train much more easier too, because they learn it directly onto the toilet.
  2. Chalk wall (DIY)

This is a briliant idea to explore too. M loves to draw and now he even loves it more, because he has a huge wall for himself to draw now. The idea of using chalk is even more fantastic as it won't leave any permanent mark after kids using it, all they need to do is wash their hands, and all mommy needs to do is wipe other "infected" ares. This is very easy to Do-It-Yourself too. All we need is a flat wall, and a chalkboard paint (easily available at paint shop or home improvements shop)
  3. Step stool from Ikea

This is a must to have if you have kid at home, specially at the bathroom for them to reach the vanity basin to brush their teeth. We can also use it to display some of their soft toys, or even more fun: play gymnastic at home. Just make sure they're doing it under your supervision.
  4. Eco-rated vinyl flooring

As an interior designer, I love to expose myself for any new trend in design and materials. This vinyl flooring is recently been used for lots of my F&B projects. It's durable, doesn't scratched easily, long lasting, super easy to maintain/clean, anti-slip and easy to install or replaced. So the first thing crossed in my mind when we're renovating our house is to use this vinyl floor, having a super active kid like M. I manage to get the eco-rated type so it's safe for the whole family, even for babies.

  5. Billy Bookcase from Ikea

I love the way Ikea makes their stuffs so easily modified and multi-usage. This bookcase is great option to keep M's toys. We can buy additional shelfs to make it fully utilised too, and it's cheap!
